Bikes: 2002 Mercian Vincitore, 1982 Mercian Colorado, 1976 Puch Royal X, 1973 Raleigh Competition, 1971 Gitane Tour de France and others

1976 Puch Royal X my father bought for me in 1978 - my first 531 bike!

c.1971 Gitane TdF fixed-gear conversion, metric gauge 531 - 1.0-.7-1.0 tubing, I think.

c.1974 Allegro, metric gauge 531 that may be .9-.6-.9 tubing, takes a 26.6 mm seat post

1973 Raleigh Competition, 531 with rapid-taper stays, running Dingle fixed cog/Dos Eno 2-speed freewheel, giving 70-in fixed pavement, 60-in fixed gravel, 60-in general freewheeling and 51-in light singletrack gearing

2002 Derek Land-built Mercian Vincitore custom road fixed gear, 531 throughout

Gone but not forgotten 1973 Raleigh Gran Sport, full 531

1982 George Bryan-built Mercian Colorado, originally a team issue bike for the Harvest/Mercian/The Spoke team out of Boulder

'75-ish Raleigh Gran Sport. Just realized, this was shot before Andy worked his cold magic straightening the top and down tubes. Too small for me really, but something by which I remember my wife (she rode it 500 miles around Ireland, with me on my 531-main-framed later-stolen '82 Trek 613):

My only other 531 bikes ('82-ish Trek 730, early '80s mystery frame apparently English) are either in pieces. Should set my alarm clock for 1 year from today.....

Dad‘s Paramount is a year older than me. It’s been at the bottom of the tangle for a few years. I resolve that for a bike month I would ride all the bikes that I have, and this is the last one.

This one is not decaled as such in its current state but was when it was built.

And this C+V inspired has it in the mix.

With my very least favorite version decal, had good ones in hand, was told they had them but then ended up with this.
