Which Campy Derailleur?

Campy people: I can’t figure out if this 7 speed RD is C-Record or Athena. (Pretty sure the crankset is C-Record.) Thanks.

Its Chorus , A/B ..perhaps sneaking around Sun Tours Slant parallelogram patent..
since you unscrewed the bolts and use it as you have shown for straight blocks ..

Angled for wider range gear ..
I used mine that way with single chain ring & 14-34t freewheel..

1st Gen Chorus RD and C Record crank......
Good you have the Chorus RD on the bike, rather than the C Record RD, as it will shift so much better with its double slant parallelogram design.....

That's one I haven't heard before. What is meant by double slant parallelogram?

Sorry maybe I mistated.... I think "Offset top pivot/Slant Parallelogram" might be the proper description...... "Slant" meaning the angle the arms go to follow the cogs closely. While the top pivot is "Offset" from the axis of the bottom pivot....

There's a bit about them on the always excellent Retrogrouch blog: The Retrogrouch: Campagnolo Derailleurs: Evolutionary Dead Ends

Also, they don't work with 8 speed cassettes. Just saying.

Bikes: Cheltenham-Pedersen racer, Boulder F/S Paris-Roubaix, Varsity racer, '52 Christophe, '62 Continental, '92 Merckx, '75 Limongi, '76 Presto, '72 Gitane SC, '71 Schwinn SS, etc.

I like the intermediate or transitional design of the Athena and Xenon Synchro-7 derailers, and that they index really well using Shimano 9s chain.

The only way you can have a slant parallelogram is if you have an "offset top pivot".

BITD , [USA, 80's] Bikes , with premium brand steel frames were assembled in LBS
with group of customer's choice..

so buying used bikes now you get other people's choices made at the time..
