Does anyone remember "Eddy gloves"? That's what we called them. He's wearing them in the first picture, and often did, hence the name.

They were made of chamois leather, fronts and backs. No padding. IIRC there was some sort of a green stripe for grip on the palm. They were my favorite gloves, because I used to hate gloves.
