Show your C& V Georgina Terry (or Inspired by) bicycle

I couldn't find a similar thread, so I started this one. A buddy of mine picked one up (I've yet to see it). He's wondering if I might know someone who would be looking for such a beast. After looking on the internet, I didn't find anything specific listing models or years or look-alikes, or nothing.

(thought this related blog post was interesting though).

Centurion Ironman women's model, 46cm frame with 24" front wheel. I've seen one on craigslist during the past year or so.

They don't last long on the Terry web site, especially the upper scale ones. The Ironman version was Tange 1 and had 105 on it, and I've seen those at triathlons under shorter riders.

Great thread. I think there was one about 6-7 years ago, covering many of the brands. Time for another.

Not a Terry but I do have a mid 80s Panasonic DX2400 with the 24 inch front wheel. I need to build it back up as I still have the wheels, frame, stem etc. but used the crank, derailleurs, brakes on another build. Bought the DX 15 years ago but was just a bit too small for my wife. Just been hanging in the barn.

I picked up an '87 Bridgestone 550 a while back. I've been working on it pretty slowly, as I'm not sure if I'll find a buyer when it's finished. It's actually in nice shape, once cleaned up. I like the "Junior" brake levers and the 165mm cranks. I'm swapping the toasted Suntour drivetrain for Shimano 600 SIS. Actually, all that's left of the rebuild is to relace the rear wheel and find some tires. I'll post a pic when it's done.

Looks like Bridgestone's effort in a Terry compact style frame lasted 2 years (87, 88) with the 550, and then disappeared. Does it seem logical that the market just wasn't big enough to warrant it, as it required it's own jigs & parts (like the 24" front wheel, smaller cranks, smaller brakes, etc.)?

"Terry Cycles, one of the first companies really targeting female cycling demographic, was closely associated with this type of bike, and this type of bike is sometimes called a “Terry”. For a time, many manufacturers including Raleigh, Miyata, Fuji, and others made these bikes for the entry-level market segment. For the most part, this design has fallen from favour as bikes with front and rear 650C wheels retain more normal aesthetics and avoid the higher US import tariff applied to bikes with two different sized wheels."
