I would never buy one of those Raleigh DL-1's. They are so outdated, with their rod brakes et al. I went to a garage sale and they had a DL-1 in excellent shape, so I picked it up to flip. Of course I had to ride it to make sure everything was good.

I liked it. I liked it so much that I though I needed to get clothing to go with the bike. I wanted to ride the bike to the pub and get a pint of beer. I started using the term mudguard instead of fender. I even put my groceries into the boot when I went shopping. I stated looking for tweed rides.

Unfortunately, the bike was a wee bit too big for me and I sold it. I am still recovering.

Ha! Yes - sorry if that was a bit too tongue in cheek!

And ditto to the multiple bikes.

Glad I read down before I launched. lol

I'm still holding the line on Aluminum frames/forks and recumbents.

Have to say I have walked in many of the other footsteps walked by others here. Me - Never would I ever have ridden a bike with a triple crankset, or gotten a stem that angled up... or put shellac on my bar tape, or put clipless pedals on a bike, or needed more than one bicycle...

Never would I have ever thought I would spend time researching ofmega cranks and bb.

Never would have done tubulars (more to come I hope)

considered riding and eroica,

Never become obsessive over a build

Never thought I would learn my max and min frame size via real frames

Never thought I'd buy an aluminum bikes direct motobecane for my gf so she could have index shifting but I did. To make up for the plane jane 1 by 7 tranny I bought a metropolis 2 speed crank.
