Campagnolo Brake ID
Can't ID these myself. Any help is appreciated.

Look like Triomphe, maybe Victory to me. edit: going with Triomphe edit2: based on the below, I did not choose wisely. |
Bummer already bad news with the mismatched holders and adjusters...now they theure not record or super.

Super Records had the eccentric cam style quick release. The lesser models had these double jointed QR levers.
Those look like Modolo brake pad holders with most likely, their much maligned sintered brakepads..... |
Always thought those wire wheel guides were funky (cheap looking) at best, way worse not mounted on Modolo's. ;)

With substituted pads and holders from Modolo and mismatched adjusters, the tall one being much later. the chrome plating guides me to Victory, as I recall, and might be off, Triomphe used cad plating on the quick release. the simple, open, shut QR worked well enough but was not the cool eccentric of the Record offering. |
I passed on them . I want the script version SR brake calipers.

Victory has conical nuts like those pictured. Triomphe has hollow nuts, unlike those pictured.
What's funny is the nuts were what made me choose, based on the first couple [now I know as mislabeled] pics I saw on the web. :) |

One thing is clearly evident to me however... Campy sure has done a good job at creating a fair amount of confusion along it’s way. I have what’s obviously SR levers, that we’re sold to me with what we’re stated to be SR calipers. However, the pad holders are steel which according to info I’ve gathered led me to believe they’d actually be NR. But then the plastic covered tire guides would suggest SR if other claims have been accurate. At least for the vast majority of production time, both NR and SR campy brakes had steel pad holders. Only the levers were different. However, there were a few oddball changes in the last year or two of SR/NR, and it wouldn't surprise me if SR used aluminum holders during that transitional time. That's when they changed the locknuts and sthe script on the arms. One more thing wouldn't be a surprise. I've just never seen them - or more likely don't remember. I would like to if someone has a picture. Hint [MENTION=327993]TiHabanero[/MENTION] :D

What was the price on these? With a set of Kool Stop blocks instead of the 30+/-yo Sinthered pads they would make a good serviceable brakeset.
When was the last time anyone actually opened their NR/SR quick release just a little bit? |

It actually was a useful feature back when spokes use to break, or when you bent a wheel on a pothole or cowguard or whatever. Allowed you to use max braking even after you wheel was bent. Single pivots could track a bent wheel. |
Found this pic on Velobase. This was last hurrah of Super Record brakes. Note the new script stamped on the arms, and conical locknuts. The pad holders do appear to be aluminum.

Apparently as I learned, decades ago, Super record lever holes were put in the sheet aluminum while it was flat ,
before going into the next punch press, to shape them. that's why the holes are not round , It was to help wet finger grip, I expect.. a little time with a rat-tail needle file rounded our the holes in mine,, |
