heh. this is what happens when you start a show your bike that only like 5 people on the forum have: short thread. I would like to find an early one like you have: A guy in SF has one at a shop, but its a 56, and no matter what I tell myself, that is just too dang small for me. As I recall its blue just like yours-

I wanted to post this in case the new owner might recognize this frame. I sold this on eBay disclosing a crack in the seat cluster lug, and some time later I saw this bike on eBay without any mention of this damage while the crack was crudely painted over. I don't think the damage is a big deal but should keep an eye on it.

Zunow Hummingbirds 1989
Two more - designed by Zunow. The serial number of the first bike is M9P5020 which matches the format of Miki manufactured bike according to T-Mar guide. The second one (M9P5009) was a single speed conversion and spray painted in gray by previous owner. I removed the gray paint, and contemplating on what to do.

This one: Asian Serial Number Guide
There is no decoding guide for Zunow. My Hummingbirds serial resembled that of Miki, but that's just a guess.

Good on ya for outing that here but I don't think we have seen it here so there's no telling where it's floating around at.
Hopefully the buyer had efbay make it right but we will probably never know.

Around 10 years ago I bought my first "nice" bike off ebay- If I really knew what I had been doing and what to look out for, I would have stayed away from it. But I was a n00b and all excited- there was a crack most of the way around the seat lug around one of the stays. It had been spray painted over- with overspray on the housing and components around there.
For someone to attempt to disguise damage like that is really, really low.

WHAAAA?! After being obsessed with all things Zunow for many years, I love that I have just learned a new fact about them! I had no idea they built for Centurion. That is fascinating and I would love to know more. Can anyone fill me in on this? What years was Centurion contracting out to Zunow? Which models were built by them? Were they available in the USA market?

According to Dave Scott all of the Steel Race Bikes that him and Mike Pigg raced on were Zunow's. this would have been between 1984-1986 for Dave and 1988 for Mike. After that Dave went to Carbon in 1987 and Mike went to Carbon in 1989. They were not production models only built for Dave and Mike. The Womens race team used Facets which were Aluminum.
