So far, its a big nothing burger. Snow is heavy and all, but it melts pretty fast. Not really sticking to the roads.

Same here in Southern Wisconsin. Even the lawns are snow-free. Let's hope for the same situation at sundown.

We were digging post holes for the new garden fence............ until it started to snow. It didn't accumulate thank goodness. Unfortunately we won't make it this year (heavy sigh). Jill did a number on her collar bone with the pry bar. Stubborn rock(s). I'm still a little hopeful for a change in the morning but doubting it. Sure wish we could see and ride with everyone.

Ouch, I know exactly how that goes, tools and force are good until they get away from you, the wrecking bar is a prime example.

Hope she's ok.

The roads look good here along the Illinois-Wisconsin border. Yesterday at dinner-time snowfall was moderate and some slushy puddles cound be found on the wet roads. This morning it looks like much of yesterday's precipitation has already evaporated. I expect most roads to be 90% dry by 9:30.

Thank you! Fortunately she is OK. A little bit of pain both from hitting her collar bone dead on and maybe a little bit of wounded pride.

I hope everyone has a great ride.

PICTURES PLEASE !

It really turned into a great day! Thank you David for organizing the event. The snow enhanced the scenery, see below. The sun was bright with temperatures in the 40s. The roads were about 50% dry for the first hour but nearly 100% dry after the convenient store stop.

The route does include two mild but significant hills, made more difficult by the headwind. My lowest gear on my Paramount was 42 & 24 so I had to make an effort, more than I recall from previous rides. My GPS unit totaled 1100 ft of climbing.

It it was nice to reacquaint myself with Robbie and the Chicago area C & V group. I’ll announce a Lake Geneva Vintage ride for summer ASAP.

I too want to thank David for setting this ride up. The snow was a non issue, It really was a beautiful day. My Roberts build was solid, nothing fell off or came lose. It really rode very nice. I am very happy with the build. All the bikes looked great. I even got to see my old Paramount. Just as beautiful as I remembered. Thanks for bringing that out Barrettscv .

I was really out of shape , felt strong enough, but the wind in the face through the most difficult leg of the ride eventually wore me down. My energy was depleted with about 4 miles to go. I finished, did not walk the bike up anything, but hit the couch and slept for 3 1/2 hours as soon as I walked through the door. My wife is baffled that I said it was a blast? It really was fun.

Big fun.

Great to see the guys and meet Steve.

Great to see an Ironman that wasn’t mine.

Teledyne shakedown ride was good, minor issue solved on the ride.

Showered, picked up a Nancy’s stuffed crust pie, now I have to smell it for at least 277 more miles, with 76 behind me now..:

There's always a guy who lags behind trying hard to keep up. That was me today. Thanks to all for giving me the support and inspiration on my first group ride. My Ironman was my first complete build starting with just a frame I found off CL. It handled great with nothing going wrong. Can't wait for another ride with these guys. They're a great group. Thanks Dave for organizing the ride.

Actually, some of the best weather for this event, 40s at the start, no wind, sunny.

Granted, we had a snow storm on the original event day. Probably cut back on attendance. But we had a fine crew riding. Thank you for attending. More pictures here.
