I'd join you when you come across the Peninsula, since I live nearby. However, I'll probably peel off after a leg or two of the grand adventure, and then drive down to Cambria with my wife on Saturday.

That'd work. Keep your eyes out for details.

Yep, the hardest part is scheduling the time off. Well, probably the hardest part is getting the ok from your signficant other.

Might be a good idea to see if we can find some BF crash pads in San Rafael-ish, and Redwood City-ish to save on costs. Part of the idea to do this next year is from a guy I met that did it last year. I drove his car down from the Bay Area so he could drive back. Which brings up the point, how do we get back? Push comes to shove we rent a van and drive back. Maybe get someone to drive it down.

Some people get put off by the complexities of planning all this stuff out in advance. For some reason it adds to the excitement of the journey.

My significant other already said "That sounds like fun", so I'm OK there. She's also talking about driving down and meeting me there (she came down this year and had a good time). That would solve the return issue for myself and one or two others. There's also the Coast Starlight or bumming rides from other SF Bay Area Eroica participants. I've also been thinking about friendly crashpads. I know some folks in Marin and Redwood City but that possibility would depend entirely on how many people were participating. If folks weren't too concerned regarding the purity of riding Marinica and then straight riding all the way to Cambria, I could shuttle a couple of folks back to my place in Berkeley and then have my wife return us to the restart point in the morning, since I only live 30 minutes away.

I like to plan things out ahead of time but I don't like to over plan. There needs to be room for spontaneity. The most important thing is to assess relatively early how many participants there will be and who is going to arrange accomodations (or do we do all that individually?).

Getting a list of people that are considering this would help steer decisions. How about starting a new thread, first post can be updated with those asked, those confirmed, those that are maybe...

PSA: 2 days left for the early bird rate for all of you that went in 2019.

I went ahead and signed up for Nova and Classic Eroica. I figured I would have my options open that way. and with the super early bird rate, I am spending the exact same for two as I did lat year for the late sign up rate ($150, last February according to pay pal). wife is even thinking her next bike may be a gravel bike, and she would be interested in the Nova ride!
