What a Day - Cinelli content

There's a local fellow who has been running a charity bike sale for a number of years, and yesterday and today I volunteered to help out with selling, fitting, wrenching, whatever. This fellow collects donated bikes throughout the year, gets them in decent ride-able condition, sells them at the sale, and donates 100% of the $$ to local groups. This year we had 711 bikes for sale, and in one evening and one morning, sold all but 50 - mostly beaters. And those were donated to charities, too. It was pretty cool! But one of the bikes didn't sell, which is too bad (but it was truly out of the wheelhouse for the clientele for this bike sale). Someone had donated a 1974 Cinelli in really nice condition, and one of the vintage guys went through it to bring it up to the appropriate specs for the period. Apparently, for bikes like this, we will move them to the internet (eBay, likely) to try to sell them. I don't know when this one will go up, but it shouldn't be too long. I snapped a few pics with my phone whenever I had a spare minute. It measured out at 51cm with about a 52cm top tube, as I recall. Just an absolutely stunning bike! Thank God it wasn't my size!

And just to give you an idea of what we had to work with at the sale, here's a shot of a portion of the kids' bikes. They all disappeared!

WOW!!! Somebody has their priorities in a higher order than mine are. Glad the sale was a success, as well.

A big thank you to Dean for helping to promote the Cinelli. The bike will be on Ebay sometime in the next week to 10 days or as soon as I recover a bit from the weekend sale. It will likely be on the local Minneapolis Craigslist also. The listing will be at $2800. We are open to offers but will likely hold tight for a while as this is one of the cleaner SC's listed in a while. And of course the proceeds will benefit two great local non-profit organizations in our area.
