1987 Bridgestone 450

Recently bought a 1987 Bridgestone 450 for $75! (Originally posted for $125). Frame is in pretty amazing condition. I think all parts are original: chromoly frame/fork, alloy rims, suntour a-3000 derailleur, sr sxc-t200 crank, bridgestone brakes. Excited to clean it up and see what it'll look like. Will post pictures after!

Nice looking bike. I can't wait to see it after the overhaul and cleanup

Bikes: 2009 Handsome Devil, 1987 Trek 520 Cirrus, 1978 Motobecane Grand Touring, 1987 Nishiki Cresta GT, 1989 Specialized Allez Former bikes; 1986 Miyata Trail Runner, 1979 Miyata 912, 2011 VO Rando, 1999 Cannondale R800, 1986 Schwinn Passage

That bike is just screaming for a clean up and refurb . I am betting it will be a nice rider after being ignored all those years. I would be tempted to wipe it down, make sure it shifted and stopped and the tires held air and then take for a short spin before doing the tear down and refurb. Nice score OP

Very nice! I always thought the "numbered" Bridgestone were pretty nice bikes. Good snag and post pics as you progress.

Bikes: A bunch

That's cool!
the bike I had the longest and rode the most from 1992 to 2010 was an 86? Bridgestone 400. It was a beater and had a ding in the top tube but I put a lot of miles on it.
I miss that bike. Finally decided to pass it on a few years ago when it wasn't getting used anymore.

Started to overhaul process. Looking at the tread of the tires, it doesn't seem like the bike was ridden much and there's isn't a lot of rust or stuck parts. Everything came apart pretty smoothly. After cleaning and waxing the frame, it looks beautiful Small, minor dings here and there but overall, it's in great condition
