World Championship, 1988 Schwinn?
Any help? Schwinn claims to have won a 1987 World Cycling Championship, anyone aware of which won, road, TT, cyclocross...etc. If you know which championship, who was the rider?
Schwinn's 1988 Cycling Catalog.
Prologue
1987 World Champion in its very first year. An eloquent complement to the craftsmanship and precision of the Paramount line. Hand brazed, carefully engineered and perfectly finished, the Prologue is a high performance racing frameset that's perfect for the road criteriums and all around training.

If the reference is for Twigg, then technically Schwinn didn't win a World Championship, as Twigg rode a Raleigh in the 1987 World Championships. However, since the World Championships typically are held around the beginning of September, the 12 month title reign spans two calendar years, while rider contracts are typically calendar year based. Consequently, it is fairly common practice for sponsors to elevate their prestige by contracting a reigning world champion whose sponsorship is set to expire. In such cases, the World Champion title is purchased by the sponsor, rather than won.
