Identify this saddle?
Found in the thrift store for $2. Been wanting to try a Brooks but put off by the price, so was happy to find this one. Now to ID the thing... any help you guys can afford is greatly appreciated. Or is it bike boom junk?

I am not the saddle expert, but I have several Brooks and Ideale saddles, and one old Wright saddle. Definitely think it is NOT junk, and you got a good deal!
Maybe not as high quality as Brooks or Ideale but certainly respectable IMHO. Would get a can of Brooks proofide and give it a couple of treatments and give it a whirl. |

I did give it a heavy layer of dubbin to soak overnight... figured what the hey, if I ruin it I’m only out $2. Dubbin not a good idea? Maybe I’ll mount it up on something and try to get it broken in.
Appreciate the input folks! |

I can’t really say why but I really like the loops at the back...
mounted on my recently adopted 1989 Panasonic MC4500: https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c12a3e41b.jpeg |
Identity remains a mystery... but the saddle itself is comfy. It doesn’t see many miles as it’s mounted on the ole Panasonic that I’m not in love with so I don’t think it’s broken in yet. I’ve tried it on other bikes but can’t quite seem to get it right. Feels like I want to slide forward all the time, but when I raise the nose up it gets a tad uncomfortable. Maybe I’ll try it again on my Trek hybrid I’ve been riding the wheels off of lately

there was another "ID the saddle" thread wherein Rudi (RHM) had some Japanese examples this seems to resemble, one was a Takahashi and another was branded "Ross" or "Speedic 170GT", here's that thread

It looks to me like a "Belt" brand saddle from Japan that Fuji bikes used to come with. Does not resemble a Brooks, Ideale, etc. Just my thought.
|
Belt saddles were always stamped, the ones I've seen, and not perforated.
Fujita Pro is nearly identical to a Brooks Pro, so that's not it either. |
