Fun Fact: If your run out of TP, you can take care of business on the lawn or an old piece of carpet . . .

I'm rather surprised this PSA courtesy of Pluto did not mention for China to stop eating dog.

I passed the Santa Monica pier this morning, around 6:00 AM, and felt that a pic was mandatory, for this thread. 😁😉
I’m now in Beverly Hills, of all places, and going towards Hollywood. It’s such a huge contrast between these 2 places. Countless people sleeping on the sidewalks back around the pier, and now more money than you can really comprehend. 🙄🤔 https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...95aac23bf.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...076c93572.jpeg |

Thank you, crank_addict, that was fun.

I learned a little. TP manufacturers work with an on-demand system. They can predict accurately how much of their product will sell. It sells evenly, and there are no peak times of demand, no pooping holidays, so to speak. That's why there was a shortage. People bought extras, and there was no big inventory in warehouses to draw from.

Well, I got as far as West LA yesterday, and decided to turn around, since I was going the wrong way for the freeways I was following. 🤔 I ended up going through Hollywood Hills, where the big Hollywood letters are on the hill, but the only time I got a good view of them, was in the middle of an intersection. I decided to not grab a pic after all. 😉 I got past Universal Studios theme park this morning, which is closed of course, so no producers were able to “discover” me. 🙁😉 |
When the crisis broke out in central Ohio, Bruce bought the last TP at Meijer. So, I made TP from the old beach towels left over from the Great Recession. Then a basket crocheted from strips of grocery bags for storage (thanks, Pinterest). A saved kitty litter container makes a proper receptical. The TP is pretty easy to dump into the wash. I'm with you; a real woman makes her own toilet paper.

With all the crying tears, gov Cuomo.
During lockdown and our HERO's work on in NYC. Meh, these tough guys don't need no stickn' TP. Lol Covid19 party in Portajohn floor 66, Joe. And hey, where's mayor Da Azzehole? https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1c3245a3fa.png |
Outhouses always have hand sanitizer in my experience, and I've even worked in NYC for 3 months.

There are several major construction projects downtown and on the near east side, including a residential "high-rise" (as much as "high" means, in a city with an ordinance that prohibits building higher than the Capitol dome) being built just a half-block down the street. Work on the projects don't appear to have slowed down a bit. Up until yesterday, they would affect my commute, because I never knew in advance if the route would be blocked by a cement truck, a tractor-trailer rig full of material, etc. Starting tomorrow, I'm teleworking, so I just have to be mindful of the construction noise in the background while on the phone. The city hasn't seen a skyline _without_ a construction crane for years, and I see no sign of that changing. |

One possible explanation for the shortage:

We run a small bakery and there's no yeast within a 100 km's of me. I've got a 3 week supply and my orders have tripled the past 2 weeks. I'm nervous. No yeast and I'm out of business. (and no a sourdough starter is not an option) I'll trade a 24 pack of TP for 3 lbs of instant yeast! I'll throw in some campy stuff too! |

Developers are also panicking that mega projects don't get finished as supply chains get thin. Like TP!

Go fly a kite! 😎 Port Hueneme, California, which is connected to Oxnard, which is “kinda” connected to Ventura. 🤔 I still haven’t heard from Ace Ventura, but I did see & hear a seal this morning. 🙂👍
