It appears that this was the first time the bottom bracket was removed...

Removing and installing cotter pins is best done with a press to avoid risk of damaging the pins or worse, the BB cups.

The teeth on these 46 year old chrome plated steel chainwheels are in perfect shape, I've never seen used aluminum chainwheels look this good...
