Anodized or Painted?

I am restoring some old Tommaselli mountain bike brake levers, and would like to know if they were originally painted, powder coated or anodized.

Here are a couple of pictures of different ones I found online. Anybody here know?

Thanks for your thoughts.

from the top pic: unclear. But those in the bottom pic sure look anodized. I only have Tommaselli (actual) motorcycle levers and they have no finish (except perhaps clear anodizing if at all)

Thanks. I agree that it looks like anodizing on the bottom pic. I just wish I knew for sure.
