Anyone know what model Olmo this is?

Hello everyone,

I just purchased an old Olmo and I am not 100% certain of the model. I believe it is the “Competition” model but would like some confirmation if anyone knows. It had Universal brakes (Mod. 125), unmarked crank, no derailleurs and Ofmega shifters. The headset was unmarked. I really didn’t care about the components as I was drawn to the beauty of the frame. It’s in rough condition but the chrome on the forks were pretty good which I was happy about. Here are some pics, I hope they upload properly! Thanks for reading...

The Columbus decals remnants are for the Aelle tubeset, Graphics and Olmo branded dropouts suggest circa 1982-1984. This is right around the time the Aelle models transferred from being the Olympic variants to the Sprint variants. Serial number? .

Thank you so much T-Mar! I appreciate all the info, however, just curious, you mention Olympic and Sprint...Are those other Olmo models? The serial number is 160367 in case it is hard to read through the rust.

Yes, Olympic (often spelled Olimpic in Olmo literature) and the Sprint variants were the two Olmo models which used the Columbus Aelle tubing, that your bicycle appears to utilize. The change in name took place around 1983-1984. The Sprint came in different versions, such as the Nuovo Sprint and Super Sprint, depending the specified components. It was standard practice to make multiple models from a common frame. .
