I purchased a new 700 and 650c in Vittoria tires for my Krono. VELOFLEX no longer makes clincher 650c. Ive searched high and low.

I have some Veloflex tires in 700 and wanted to know if the Vittoria gum walls are similar in appearance....if they are I'll order only the 650, if not, I will need a 650 and 700.

I ordered my decals and tire today and will be returning the tubulars that I purchased by mistake, I am making some more progress, but will have to set this aside for a while, hobbies are great but they pay the bills.
Front-wheel is a place holder for the time being and may go with SR crank-set.

Hi Ben, its coming together nicely. The black SR crank popped my eyes a bit, but the more I look at it the more I like it. There is one thing, I would consider. Last time you wrote, that you will go for white sticker, white bartape.
Sounds nice, but then the seat (which is still one of the highlights of this machine, so changing seat is no option if you ask me) might cause some imbalance. There's a red leather Brooks bar tape (not the cheapest I know ) which is more or less like your set, I would consider that on the long run, or anything bordeaux, what do you think?

We are thinking along the same lines...I have a Bordeaux color bar tape somewhere and was thinking about using it.....I may also switch out the crank for something more "traditional".
I was on my way to pick up some 650's but the guy called me and said he had things to do and wanted me to postpone our meeting.
BTW, If I had your Photoshopping ability, I wouldn't buy bikes but would spend my time creating them.

Hi Ben, its a pity with the wheels, but at least its only delayed, so eventually it will come.
I'm happy that you like the pictures, these are actually 3d models of your bike, similar to those in animation films.
If you want to give a try, head over to blender.org and download it, its absolutely free. I can also send you the scene file with your bike, so after checking some tutorials on youtube, you can also play around with it. There are also lots of freely available models for kick-start. For example, I only modelled the tubes and some screws for your bike, the rest were downloaded and modified according to the need. Takes some time to learn (and a lot to master it), but it's fun. I am using it for a lot of things, not only to check how my bikes would look like, but to check, if e.g. a planned new furniture would fit in the room, or how would it look like.

I vote for the red Concor. The Bio Turbo is too flashy and busy for this frameset IMO

The s"slight direction change" is a hyperspace jump with those Deltas. As for the seat, the bio is nice and kind of uncommon, but I stand behind malcala622 's opinion. To be fair, there might not be many seats beating your bordeaux Concor at least for me, and I say it as a Turbo-fan.

Actually you are right, once it was white... the shop, where I snapped the below photo is having 2 NOS ones, one black and one red (and one perforated white, which is my favorite texture with seats), but it's EUR160... almost twice what I normally pay for bikes

I forgot to post a pic of the wheels I found on this thread. They were from a barely ridden Quintana Roo that was hanging in a dark garage since almost new and as a result no brake wear and tires that have no cracking and are still very supple!
I have a 700c rear that is a match so wheel wise I am good to go....many thanks to all that offered to help me with the search for the elusive front 650c.

I consider myself fortunate to have found these...campy hoops and hubs.

Okay, It will either be the Merlot or perhaps a white saddle....I got this in the mail today.

Its really a nice match. I woild stick to these but I told you im in love with this seat. If you would go for white I'd consider the perforated ones, Volare SLX or Turbo saddle with Silva forello (anytthing similar) tapes, those look good rogether. So soonish we might see a new garage shot?

I am still waiting for the decals to arrive and continue to vacillate about the group that I want to build it with. There is a part of me that likes the more traditional approach, I like the SR from the late '80s and it seems to be the go-to group for this frameset. I tried the black cranks but started to look at some more traditional...clear anodized is de rigor etc.
I did pull out a newer group that I have been saving for another build and think it might have possibilities so I am contemplating another change.....perhaps graphite?
I think this group is not at the level of the SR group but since I am not a professional cyclist and never purported to be one the weight and strength are not an issue.
I do like the aesthetics of the later Campagnolo groups.
In any event, this is a fun and evolving build so time is not an issue for me.
I will be wrapping the bars later this evening.

The problem is that the chrome on the brake nuts is somewhat lacking in its original luster, and I am not sure tin foil will bring it back to a result that is acceptable.....

Hey Ben, thats a nice gruppo I like it, and in my opinion its rather rare compared to the older SR you showed before. Ultimately its a question of balance how it will look like as the bar and the seatpost are chrome while the lower part of the bike is dark with the wheels also being black. But thats not necessary a problem can even turn out to be even better than matched ones.

I would not worry much about the bolts but if it really bothers you, get a pair of chorus (as I can tell from this pic your is Chorus) monos from Ebay or CL (i see they are around with every kind of pricetags from peanuts to NASA equipment) and change whatever you need. Just make sure you get the same model as the bolt is different for Chorus and the rest. If you are lucky enough you get the whit rubber covers for the brakepad holders as well.

I made a little progress over the last few days and managed to wrap the bars and get the pedals for the project.

I am not sure about the stem length yet, but it seemed right during the trial fit...the tape seems a good match, although not as dark as the saddle.

Are these Chorus/Athena pedals? The straps are next and a good polish of the metal.

Hi Ben good to see you back! That stem looks a bit long, but that is something you can only test once you roll with the bike. I have installed a too long (but really nice) one on my Rossin and with the bullhorn ( what Im not used to since it was first time I had it) it felt somehow awkward. But maybe it is also just a matter of personal taste. Anyway I like the look of that stem and the tape turned out good (and the 51.151 bullhorn is still awesome). Waiting for a garage door shot.

While I am not a bike authority and definitely no Campy expert I tend to believe that those pedals are C Record pedals. At least the Chorus/etc's have riveted backplates while yours are bolted. But maybe someone with more knowledge can prove me wrong here.

Yes, but progress has been slow. I took your comment about the stem length to heart and you were right the Cinelli was much too long.
I found a Bertoni panto 3tt stem in a 90 that fits perfectly...however it took almost 3 weeks to travel 119 miles to me in Los Angeles!
I did a little detailing in Italian Colors and did the initial assembly and will install the brake levers and wrap the bars in a day or so. I don't think the Deltas will work...for some reason, there does not seem to be enough reach on the rear?
I will post a pic later.
