Schwinn World Kickstand Bracket/Tab Removal?

I have an '87 Schiwnn World that I'm dong a modern upgrade on which will include cold setting the rear end to accommodate a 130mm hub. A few of quick questions.

1. Do you think that the kickstand tab will hinder spreading the frame?
2. If removed would this tab affect the strength/integrity of the frame?
2. Is there a clean easy way to remove the tab? Or would I need to cut it out?

Thanks in advance!

Frame spacing is 126mm, right? If so, you need only 2mm per side. I don't think that mounting plate would pose any problem.

I believe they serve the dual or even triple purpose of 1 BB bridge, 2 kickstand mount and 3 fender mount. I am with reynolds I would not remove it.

+1 to this. It's not tubular or traditional, but this is your bike's chainstay bridge. It's structural.

Don't remove it. Advice applies even if you were cold setting 120 to 130.

Thanks all! I wasn’t hell bent on removing anyways, just wanted to confirm if it would hinder the ability to open the stays up a bit
