Droop snoot saddle?

Looks it's supposed to sweep back to finish the bottom of the nose.

Brooks made them as well but i can't make out the model number. It follows a nose plate. Perhaps the OP's broke off?

Thanks so much for all of these replies. You have certainly got it knocked! :) Did a spot of research on the cycle and learned it to be made by Peugeot who created the Trophee de France event ca. 1911. They retained rights to the name and produced cycles with it. ----- |
That's a pretty little velo de ville. You should post more detail photos of it. Looks like the frame design utilizes twin lateral tubes ending at the seat tube instead of continuing to the rear dropouts. Centerpulls with brazed pivot posts. An elegant little machine.

I've seen many saddles of this style including ones by Ideale. my thought was it's to keep a skirt from
not catching on anything when dismounting |
