Bikes: 2006 Cannondale Bad Boy, 2009 Specialized Roubaix, 1981 Huffy BMX, Schwinn balloon tire (researching)

What is this Firestone?

Not interested in value. I’m interested in who made it and when they made it. I would like to know so I can see what is supposed to look like. I’ve been Google researching and haven’t found much useful information about it. It might be a Vagabond Featherweight?
The serial number and another batch of numbers is under the crank. The serial number looks like a Schwinn and bikehistory.org search said it was a 1956 Chicago Schwinn, but I’m being a skeptic about that. It has a Schwinn seat.
Bendix coaster brake. I couldn’t find any stamped numbers on it.
Has this been rattle can painted? Can you tell?

What is it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Many of the Firestones were done by H.P. Snyder Mfg. Co. but that firm usually placed serials on the dropout.

You might wish to also make your query over at thecabe.com forum. This bicycle is right up their street. Registration is free and takes only a moment.

Thanks for the referral.
I have read about multiple companies making bikes for Firestone, but that’s what Google showed me.

Looks like a Huffy Sportsman.
Mia there any way to prove it or get more details? What year would be helpful.

Looks like you received some solid information straightaway from your inquiry over at thecabe.

You could also have a go at posting it to their "lightweights" forum...

No shortage of Huffman Manufacturing experts on that forum.
