Good idea but that s why I change out my DO screws for Phillips head or cap screws, if I can find them. I do suffer great humiliation from all the people who crawl under my bikes to look for non spec DO screws. Gosh...
BTW - I use a similar idea for spoke nipples. Bit of vinyl tubing on the end of a wooden rod. Tuck the nipple into the vinyl tube then feed it through the rim and a few threads onto the spoke. Never drop one. Thinnest tubing I can find so it works for double was rims too.
