VeloCals... Excellent decal work!!!

I got a set of Appel decals, created by VeloCals to replace badly deteriorated ones on a rare Mike Appel frame. JR (co-owner) used my photo's and his research to construct utterly perfect decals. Sharp work, deep colors and excellent materials. I recommend VeloCals highly, highly, highly to anyone needing particularly good decals.

Mind sharing what selection of decal thickness and finish (UV or not, gloss/matte, etc) you chose?

Someday when I paint a project I've got I'll be ordering decals and VeloCals seems to have most if not all of what I'd need.

I used 2mm vinyl. The thinner might have been even slicker, but Appel used very thick decals. With clearcoat they are smooth as silk.

Bikes: A few

I will most likely use them to replace the Reynolds decals on my 74 International this summer.

Maybe a dumb question but: 2mm thick? Or did you mean 2 mil (0.002 inch)? 2mm vinyl seems pretty thick, like sliced cheese. 2mm is one suggestion for the height of an FD cage above the big ring.

No complaints here....

I’m on maybe my 6th or 7th set and various smaller decals. Always good.

I’ve used others, too, with no issues.

Bikes: Paletti,Pinarello Monviso,Duell Vienna,Giordana XL Super,Lemond Maillot Juane.& custom,PDG Paramount,Fuji Opus III,Davidson Impulse,Pashley Guv'nor,Evans,Fishlips,Y-Foil,Softride, Tetra Pro, CAAD8 Optimo,

Count me in as a fan of their work too. I got a complete set from them for my old Giordana Antares and he custom colored them to match my frame. They look as good today as they did when I put them on back four or five years ago.

He actually supplied more decals for the set then I decided to use. Wanted to keep the bike a little "cleaner" looking than stock.

Magenta colored decals to match this pink mess, LOL!

Bikes: Seriously downsizing.

I've bought off the shelf and had custom sets made. Aside from infrequent delays in shipping I recommend without reservation.

Bikes: It's complicated.

1 mil = .04mm (with rounding). Mil is typically used by machinists for 1/1000"

Love the doors and tile work of the entranceway!
And the bike, too, yeah.

Just noticed VeloCals are no longer taking requests:
Starting Sept 1, 2022, we are no longer taking requests to reproduce artwork for vintage bicycles.

To strengthen our business, we are focused on becoming a primary decal and product resource for builders and manufacturers.
