Servellen DCR?

I recently saw a Craigslist listing for a single speed Servellen DCR (clearly an adult “roadster”, not a beach cruiser or kid’s bike). Looks to be an interesting bike...but I can find virtually nothing online about the company. Dutch company, went out of business in 1982? Made bikes under a few different names? That’s about it. Bike appears to be in good condition, and probably from about 1980...lugged frame with bolted-on seatstays, full chain case, coaster brake (though no indication of brand of rear hub). Anyone have any info or insight on this?

here’s the listing: https://lynchburg.craigslist.org/bik...02408114.html#

Try Youtube I have seen an article there on the company. My Servellen DCR is a ladies and dates from 1950. The rear hub is Torpedo back pedal brake and the date is marked on it.

Actually, the brand name is DCR (De Centrale Rijwielhandel). Its owner(?) was A. van Servellen. It was a brand from Rotterdam which supplied decent bikes and existed from 1905 to 1982. Frames were sourced from Locomaotief, among others.

Apparently they were also the Dutch Bianchi importer for a while.
