?

The damaged threads were just the driveside crank arm where the puller and dustcap go. Pedals threads look good. In fact I haven't even remembered to check them to see if by chance they have already been retapped in the past. Another reason this one is taking so long is because I am so scattered brain these days, LOL!

But yeah the plan has always been to retap for "normal" pedals if needed. I'm pretty sure my LBS will have the tap for this and if not the local bike collective.

Ok,I just checked, french treaded for the pedals. So first order of business will be retapping them. If I can find someone to do that. Of course I could always find a nice shiny set of old school French threaded pedals also.....hmmm.....

Ah I misread your thread damage note. I tried buying some nice french pedals but after riding clipless I just couldn't revert back to narrow quill pedals and straps. After tapping and adding clipless pedals I ride the bike a lot more.

Just to finish this thread out too. Bike was pretty much finished up and then promptly donated to the local bike collective for a fund raising event. Had a couple of minor things to still address but needed to get it turned over to them.

Pretty much how I turned it over to them except for the saddle. I put a Turbo on it when I gave it to them. Nobody get's me good leather saddles, LOL!

You made it, and it looks great. Next time you donate you should consider Jethin's Home for Wayward Bikes.
