Yeah. I tend to think of Italian bikes as beautiful and elegant, but Colnago's "Decor" bikes tend to stretch my sensibilities.

Also, it's hard to look askance at my Serotta when this is out there:

for some reason, I've thought about repainting this, recently. I'm sure there's not more than a handful like it. And for good reason....

That was done on purpose**********

The current generation seems not to have been given enough warning.

You should checkout the spray.bike Instagram feed. You might be uniquely qualified to enjoy it.

Oh yeah, their feed and squid bikes' feed both have a lot that is less than traditional.

Whoever has handled All City's paint designs for that past decade is a flippin genius. Fantastic fades, sensational splatters, and killer Keirin flakes.

Looking at the tires that is clearly a CX bike and, as such, the first rule should be fun. That paint scheme is a 9/10 on the fun scale so I approve.

What was the casting call for this one? WANTED: Seriously hairy legs? Dude has more hair on his legs than I do elsewhere.

No way, the first rules of CX is weight reduction. Those creamsicle decals are going to add at least two grams.

Plus, if you make it all about fun, before you know it you end up here:

http://www.cxmagazine.com/wp-content...844f014_b1.jpg

Of course, weight reduction might get you there too.

Seriously though, a friend of mine used to race with a rubber chicken in his jersey pocket to remind himself of exactly what you said. I should have seen it.

As long as we're calling out catalog pics, I've got to include Agent Coulson and his Schwinn Voyageur 11.8.

https://bikehistory.org/catalogs/ima...d_voyageur.jpg

At least he got his valve stems properly aligned and put it in the big-little gear. I'm not sure about the crank arm placement though, and he really needs to ditch the reflectors.

I don't know if those are the best pants to wear for a bike ride. I hope his chain is clean.

If those shorts were any shorter, you'd be seeing his "elsewhere".

Don't forget the 80's BMX scene...There was some crazy stuff :roflmao:

I guess maybe because of the name they were trying to make him look like Miami Vice, but messed up and made him look like a 80's cocaine cartel member.

of course i ride in these shorts, so questioning my style sense if fair game :)

The important thing is that you ride. The rest of it is primarily an attempt at self-aggrandizing BS.

Hutch Trickstar!
I actually have a pink early 80's Hutch Trickstar that I enjoy riding. One day I was cruising around and I heard a little girl say to her Mother "Mommy, why is that guy riding his Daughter's bike?...Is he poor?".

So no matter how awkward you might feel because the spandex is a little too tight. Just remember that there is middle aged men riding around "on thier Daughters bikes because they are poor."

Just me actually riding around. I also enjoy vintage Roadbikes.

Yes, the front of the frame is covered with fingerprints. It was painted by Cyclart in 1988 or 89.

Ex Pres 02-08-21 02:05 PM

I wish I had a picture of my '86 DS Ironman. The standard red and white frame, but I built a wheelset with red rims and used various models of red & red-sidewalled tires. May have replaced the cable housing with red, I don't recall. Seems like I had red and white splash tape, too. Just over-the-top red. Definitely should not be repeated.

Curious ... if popsicles and clouds rank 9/10, what's 10/10? Clowns?

That instagram feed is my happy place that I go to when I want to zone out and dream of bikes I want to build.
