Thanks all for helping meCrank spider and both chainrings where bent in some way or another.
BTW I used hands and wooden plank. Is it normal for chainrings and crank spider arms to be not so hard to bend or I just overestimate force needed to bend them? Is it could be problematic that they are bending not so hard? |

Somewhat counter-intuitively, even when you are mashing the pedal the sideways force is minimal. The simplistic view is that the teeth at the front (3 o'clock viewed from the right side) will fall to one side or the other if they are bent more than a tiny bit out of line - but that is false. The teeth at the front bear little or none of the load from the chain; it is instead the first few (if not the first one), and they are at 12 o'clock (more or less) and if they wander left or right at that point it doesn't matter. |
