Adidas Velo Sambas
I know there are some Adidas Sambas fans on this forum. My 10 year old Sambas are about worn out and I'm considering these new Velo Sambas. I like the Sambas for riding flat pedals and this new SPD enabled version would have me covered on my SPD bikes as well. Have not seen any reviews yet, but it would be wonderful if they're a little stiffer in the sole than the original Sambas. https://www.adidas.com/us/the-velosa...es/FW4459.html

As soon as I saw these, I made a quick decision to get them. I hadn't purchased SPD shoes since the mid 1990s (Diadora Chili), and I had just re-glued (for the second time) a piece of broken tread onto the sole, and the plastic around the heels were literally falling apart after >20 years of abuse.
I'm glad I did, they're impossible to find now (sold out). Yes, they are stiff, which is what I want when cycling SPDs. But they're also quite comfortable, better than I was expecting from Adidas, which usually run a bit thin for my foot.
Also, and maybe most importantly, they're gorgeous. A really good-looking shoe that looks normal walking around when you're off the bike. I'll get a lot of use out of these (once lockdown lifts).
If you can find them in your size and the colour you want, don't hesitate.

Shoot, late to the game here. They really know what they’re doing. I’d have bought these in a heartbeat.

And it looks like the resale market is thriving...

These are a great idea. I love riding in my Sambas. Can't justify the $225 re-sale price these are going for on eBay though.
Hopefully they have more available soon.
