Daneleigh Executive (Denmark)

There is one old message on this forum, similar to this one. We have a Daneleigh Executive Roadster, beautiful condition, hardly used. Can't find any info on the brand or its history. It ws made in Denmark. Can anyone direct me to a source? Thank you.IMG_0309.jpg

forum member Highmass is in DK and may be able to assist with information on this marque...

also member styggno1 is in Sweden and has a good familiarity with Scandinavian cycles

recall that the forum has had several discussion threads on the Danish marque of Everton

this badge was created by a distributor rather than a manufacturer

their products have been manufactured in several different lands through the decades

there is the chance that they may also own the Daneleigh marque

you might wish to keep in mind that the name may be one created for a chain store or for an importer/distributor of cycles and is not the name of an actual manufacturer

this is a state of affairs which could contribute to the difficulty in finding online references to it...

if curious as to the discussions of the Everton marque you can use the forum's search function to bring them up

Thank you. I had not considered that possibility.

If it's Danish, it should be easy to determine the year from the serial number. The serial number may also reveal the identity of the distributor/manufacturer, which may open the door to further information.

Thanks. I looked for that but can't see it. Where would it be?

the most common locations are -

underside of bottom bracket

lateral face of non-drive side dropout

front or side of head tube or front of head lug

side of seat tube, either just below seat lug or just above the bottom bracket

occasionally they can be found on the seat lug

sometimes the marking is struck so lightly it can almost be hidden by the bicycle's paint finish

best to search in the presence of strong illumination

there are some cycles which are manufactured without a serial number

For Danish bicycles, the frame's serial number is typically in the vicinity of the crankset. either on the down tube, seat tube, or bottom bracket shell.
