Bikes: A few too many

Another Celeste Question

Hi, I have ordered 3 sets of Cinelli Tape, and none of it comes close to the colors on the monitor, granted the monitors are often hard to calibrate and not always true to the color of the item but every one of them has had a very blue cast.
Anyone know who might still have the lighter one.....paying to send back is getting

tiresome.

I am not asking for recommendations on "what color should I paint my frame" but for a source of lighter tape....
And hoping for a source that others have used etc.
Best, Ben

Again, sorry Ben and I understand that, I have seen the tape at bike shops that no two sets were the same. I think you're at the mercy of production run, warehouse where it sat and any other factor that could affect it. Seems like any celeste discussion, be it paint, powder coat, cable housing or bar tape never ends well. I have seen other brands and may have some that is not that blue but may still not be in the ballpark or very good quality either. I have picked other versions up for this very reason, I have 2 frames and an 80 SC complete and have always known this to be a fools errand. I will probably go with black when I get there. I would be looking at other brands, in person on a shop tour with fingers crossed.

Bikes: 82 Trek 710, 90 Trek 750, 86 Vitus, Nishiki Cervino, 1989 Bianchi CdI, 2 Nashbars, an Italian Steel MTB, Sears Spaceliner, and a 74 Schwinn Speedster. I also manage a fleet of Volcanic Patrol bikes, 83 of them.

I'm in the same boat Ben. I ordered Jagwire's Pro level version of bar tape and its darker than the frame. My feeling is that the frame paint has lightened in the sun enough so that I'll never match it.

Don't order the Jagwire Celeste. You'll be disappointed in the color.

Too late. The cinelli cork tape from this site shows their celeste color closerbto the one you're looking for.
