Blackburn Bottle Cage Smaller

was wonderin why the water bottle kept working itself loose,

answer is Blackburn cage was too small,

question is, what there a different size bottle used back then? if so , who made it?

thanks for any help!

delta cage bought , saw a thread here, looks great! has clamped construction so no welds to break,

The Blackburn cage on the left is bent (the bottom should be roughly 90 degrees to the back) -- which might be part of the issue.

The classic bottles had a slimmer neck than the oversized necked bottles of today, despite the fact that they are nominally similar sizes -- that also might have an impact on fit -- and of course the tall oversized bottles many favor are not ideal for vintage lightweight cages.
