Any Help on identifying this would be brilliant

Hi all i have restored and a few road bikes over the years and this really has me totaly stumped. It was rescued from a skip last week by a friend and he asked me if i wanted it. By the cotted crank and brazing i no doubt thought hmmmm maybe pre 1970s but clueless on bike make, model the serial looks half stamped as i took the paint of with stripper it wasnt making sense.. i imagine its E60808647 also a weird

looking downtube shifter hold just made it more of a scooby doo mystery..any input would be great

A loveheart by the looks

Nice smooth lugset

Cotterd crank

We would love to help! Give us more info! Threading, seat tube size. Pics of the drop outs and anything you find fascinating about your frame would help us greatly.

Welcome to BF Classic an Vintage!

That's a really long serial number. I believe the format may be Eymmxxxxx. This format was typically used by Taiwanese manufacturers. Given the top tube cable tunnels, it probably represents August 1986. I doubt it's pre-1970s or even 1970s based on the top tube cable tunnels. It also appears to have a hole in the BB shell for a plastic cable routing guide, which would be era appropriate and not fit earlier timeframes. In which case, the lack of other fittings such as shift lever and bottle bosses. would suggest an entry level model, possibly from a department, hardware or other chain store.

Initial reaction is not pre 70's mainly because of the cable guides on the top tube. Usually frames pre 70's have the little chrome cable guide bands.

I am also not thinking too high end with the serial number being stamped into the side of the seat tube.

The real experts should be along soon, but it would help to get a seat cluster pic, dropouts pic, threading, and tubing measurements where possible.

Good luck!

edit: T-Mar is the true expert and beat me to it!
