Ferrules
I have been searching for and not finding metal derailleur cable ferrules for old style 4mm od wound housing to fit 5mm stops. Does anyone have a source. These are for my Paramount build.

Three things I still go to the LBS for: derailleur housing, derailleur ferrules and chromoly seatpost binder bolts. As far as new stuff, can't think of a fourth off the top of my head. Tube patches?

Modern brake ferrules and derailer ferrules have the same ~6mm OD, but the ID is generally 4mm for shift ferrules and ~5mm for brake ferrules.
These alloy ferrules have the internal plastic seating ring for the sharp shift cable housing strands to embed into, which equalizes the compressive force among the strands, and which helps prevent any strands from migrating inward into the cable's path when the housing gets bent at the ferrule.
So it's best to have nice, sharply-cut strands at the ends of shift cable housing.
Often a bag of ferrules is sold with a roll of cable housing, or as mentioned the kits come with ferrules. They can be ordered separately.

What I seek are 4mm ID by 5mm OD thin metal ferrules for old style wound deraileur cable housing. Huret in this case for my Paramount with Twinn Stick Huret/Schwinn shifters and Campagnolo down tube cable stop. Yes I know many would use lined brake cable housing in this case but I'd like to stay pretty vintage here. The Campagnolo housing at the rear deraileur has them, but I can't find a Campy number for them. I just lost an auction for some I thought might work. The search continues. Thanks for the assistance.
