If anybody actually ever bought the Rivendell Speedblend tires, (for which GP actually sought and got a patent,) they'd be a strong contender.

Also, they'd be in medal contention for "dumbest idea in the history of bicycles"... especially because they almost bankrupted the company, and literally everyone was telling Grant, "Dude, those tires are stupid and ugly and nobody will buy them."

PS: All that said, on an early 90s MTB with a screaming neon paint job and hella anodized parts... I'd rock a set...

Not mine, but this saddle on a Facebook Marketplace Raleigh looks just like the saddle on my old Batavus after I'd put a few thousand miles on it and laced it to prevent "flair leg." If you've never ridden in short cutoffs and suffered from that condition, consider yourself lucky.

But, if it was the ugliest I'd ever seen, I would never have purchased it. This is a self-defeating rule.

That's because Signore Cippolini had already "endorsed" the models before he endorsed the stems...

Halloween's Happened!

Halloween's happened, and I quite forgot to call for the vote. Not sure that it matters, though. We all had a lot of harmless fun here. If anyone feels that they ought to have won and would like the "prize", I would be happy to make it available. Otherwise, I'll put it back on eBay.

On a slightly more serious note, it's amazing how much variety there is in the design of components, and in people's opinions of them. There are "ugly" entries here that I think look quite sleek — and probably some components on my bikes that some of you would call ugly.

Enjoy the ride!
