French bike posing as a Schwinn Paramount?

This came up locally and is listed as a Paramount but I think it is more like a Peugeot PX something or other with a replacement fork. Has Huret rear dropouts. Seller says serial number is G79## Any ideas?

Doesn't look like any Paramount I've seen, and the Huret dropouts make it almost certainly not a P.

ps - nice bodge on the derailleur hanger!

Yep. I had one identical to this one, down to the rear brake bridge cable stop having been removed. Cool bike, but this one is waaaay overpriced.

Thanks, I didn’t even think of a Raleigh, I wasn’t aware that they used Huret dropouts

purebikes-

The Competition used Huret dropouts for the Jubilee rear derailleur and typically had Huret fronts, as well. (Although this was the bike boom and specifications were changeable!)
