Dawes R1? I.D. Help, Please!
I just picked up this Dawes frame earlier today but it's not a brand whose history I'm familiar with. A little poking around on the internet leads me to believe that it's an R1 frameset, I'm guessing from somewhere between '83 and '85ish(?) but there's not a lot of info available on these (or I'm just incompetent in my searching). Anyone know much about vintage Dawe's who can fill me in. The rear spacing is 130mm but I don't know if it was re-spaced or came that way from the factory. I'm also curious about the cracks in the head tube lugs that show on the curved parts of the lug tops: likely to be paint only? Possible impact damage? Any info is welcome!
