Worth the time? Cilo
Got this bike and it’s rough. Corrosion. No dents. Aelle tubes. After tear down I notice small ripple under downtube. Front end crash? Forks appear straight. Winter project Cheers, Kevin.

Bikes: More than the people who ride them...oy.
Looks like the top tube is still out of whack a bit. Shame. Pretty bike. Also Aelle is pretty bullet proof...must have been a bad one!
Might be a fun flat bar around towner though?

I have my doubts about that being the original fork.
A red Cilo very similar to this, albeit too small for me, came through my stable a few years ago. It rode really well.
+1 to around towner

I concur, that is not the OEM fork. This one is circa 1985-1987 based on the Columbus decal style, dual bottle bosses and pump peg. The model name was Cilo Aelle. They typically came with a full Shimano New 600EX group. They were marketed as a club racer, with optional tubular or wired-on wheelsets. MSRP in 1986 was $529 US.
Regarding the tubing tubing damage, it's fairly mild distortion and will likely be OK for normal riding. However, another front end collision coulkd relegate it to the scrap pile.

Appreciate the responses. Seemed like a nice enough frame set to put some effort into. I did ride the bike a few times before tear down. Couple pics of bike.

This could be a great under-the-radar commuter but I wouldn't throw a ton of money at it. Go all the way and run it with 650's & big fat tires.

I love under-the-radar commuters. Been there ... done that with my first Capo.
