Rudge Sport Identify

Good All.I call across this Rudge sports bike and of course it didn’t have original equipment. So after stripping bike.i always mock up frame but was having trouble mounting front wheel that i pulled from a Raleigh and wheels just wasn’t locking in forks. So I snapped a few photos for anyone to help solve issue.

What’s that little lip?also front wheel was newer QR Wheel

Any idea what that little hole is for?

Because someone always ask for lug shots

Only decal on frame.

The little hole takes the chain case mounting bolt. Which places the frame from the 50’s or earlier. The jockey wheel is black which ??might?? Be a wartime blackout feature. Is the fork, a Rudge fork? I am unsure.

Raliegh/Rudge probably used different retention systems for the front wheel over the years, so a 70’s wheel might not fit a 50’s frame.

I’m no Rudge expert, but I haven’t see that style of seat tube decal before. That was a Raleigh thing on their 1930s Sports models.

I assume the serial number is stamped into the seat tube. I have a 52 raleigh which is 5 digits plus BE. Since Raleigh absorbed Rudge in the late 30’s and early 40’s, yours is about the same vintage as mine. If the frames were made on the same line.
