Campagnolo Syncro
While digging through a box of parts I found these syncro levers. These have a metal indexing wheel. I am certainly no expert but I remember the inserts being colored plastic bits that were interchangeable for different situations.
What is the deal with the metal one?
Thank you for entertaining my questions!

They were never plastic, but they were painted different colours to identify the number of gears.
Once 8 speed became established I think they stopped colouring the inserts.
Yours looks like 8 speed, possibly Veloce.
