Suntour Cyclone FD differences
Hiya Folks,
I just got a cheap Cylone MkII GT rear derailleur and I'm considering a Cyclone FD to replace my rusty VX FD.
Visually the Mk1 and Mk2 Cyclone FD are fairly different - embossed logo vs cr*p black lettering for example.
But I can't find any info on whether there's a functional difference between the FD versions. eg. does Mk2 work better ?
I'm looking for the clamp version ideally (FD-2400) and there's more of those in the Mk1 variant on Ebay.

Great to hear there's no real functional difference, I'll get the embossed one then - I prefer the look anyway.
I'd read about the endless bands and was hoping to avoid them, my VX has the clamp and I can't see a problem with that mechanism
(althoiugh they can snap apparently if you over tighten them).

BITD I sold a lot of the MkII endless band types. They were my "go to" front derailleur for repairs. I did have the endless band type break on me once.
Cyclone MkII endless clamp decided to end it all.

I've also had both and have had them both work very well. The MKII came to me with the branding rubbed off, so now it matches any rear derailleur -- a plus in my book.
