Vintage bike (Trek?) abuse: legalzoom.com youtube ad

Anyone else seen this ad in their youtube feed? Some pretty unconventional techniques here ... hope the bike was ok!

Can anyone ID the bike?

Hourglassed seat stays and a fully modern wheel, cassette, and groupset. Seat stays look like prior CAAD models to me. I remember seeing this ad a week or so ago and going WTF??? An angle grinder has no place near a complete and in good condition bike. Like many things for a TV show or "reality show" or an ad, it bears no resemblance to reality. Maybe because reality is just really regular looking. There was that Apple? ad a while back that had quick shots of a guy working on a vintage bike in his garage, with the garage door open and a very intense thunderstorm (lightning, rain, the whole deal). I think some BF members saw Campagnolo Delta brakes, and I think the levers were non-aero. No bar tape was applied, and the last image is him pushing off (or giving the impression of doing so) and where he lived was midway up a hill in a mountainous area. Just, all sorts of wrong things going on there.

The previous comment had me braced for the inappropriate grinding, but what they did to the pedal really made me laugh.

Speaking of bike mainainence cringe, I couldn't make it all the way through this video:
