How weird and cool it would be to build a bike out of oddities as much as possible.

Someone, somewhere, had a theory about that. I can't imagine what it would have been, though.

We should use this thread to virtu-build one. Quite pricey at 156 pounds and the reserve not met.

Would definitely need the butterfly handlebar things, maybe a 3 pulley SunTour Lepree. And Cinelli pedals.

If I remember correctly Sheldon had these on one of his pages. Perhap the wheels could be spoke "POWer Wheel" fashion with all the spokes pulling forward for more power. POWerWheels And fill the tires with Shelbroco helium.

I haven't looked at this Shelbroco stuff in a while thanks for making me think about it and looking it up again.

I don't know if it's kewhl...... but it's definitely weird......

And bolt them up out of phase. If you chose the proper chainrings, at some point in the stroke the inner chainring could effectively be be a higher gear than the outer. Shifting might be an issue, though.

I should check my chainrings. I often feel like I'm pedalling squares.

No, you could go either way, but you'd only be able to make sharp, 90 degree turns.

The bike built from C&V curiosities should probably be equipped with Cinelli Bivalent hubs too. It's important to be able to swap the front and rear wheels, right??

Helium filled tubes sound good.

Except that we would be running supersucker solid rubber tires on this build. No tubes for that extra special ShelBroCo helium.
