Help identifying this bike “Laser”

All I have is this photo and the owner saying it has Shimano components. Looks interesting to me. All searches for Laser come up empty. Any help is appreciated!

thanks,

Gary

First generation Shimano 105 places it 1983-1986. Assuming the fade paint is OEM would place it in the latter half of that timeframe. There was a Laser brand owned by a Florida based marketing company called the American Cycle Group. I don't know who contract manufactrured the bicycles for them, though given the level and era, it's likely Asian manufacture. The frame itself looks lower mid-range, which is consistent with the components. The serial number may allow us to determine the actual year and manufacturer.

A little more information. The bike was bought in Europe and has Columbus Aelle tubes. So maybe not the best bike but will clean up nicely.

...so, almost certainly a different Laser brand than the one that I mentioned.

Bikes: Yes, please.

I would not be surprised if that turned out to be a Flandria product.

It's not a Rossin Laser.
That should narrow it down some.

Therefore:
-European
-Not Rossin
-Likely mid 80's
-Aelle tubing

The haystack is smaller, anyway.

Likely one of many shop brands. Shop wants to sell their own and contract a builder to provide them. Common practice in the past. Many of the Bernard Carré frames I see are built to a price point for a shop. Looking at the Laser, I see domed ends on stays and fork along with Aelle tubing. Signs of a price point build. Still a nice bike.
