I believe that crank was used on the Royale. Not sure if that model had a RD hanger….

+1, that crankset was used on the Royale, circa 1979-1982. I believe the only year it did not have a derailleur hanger was 1979. However, the Cyclone front derailleur would be incorrect, the fork would have had chromed blade ends and it didn't employ lo-rider mounts. The crankset could be a transplant.

Seems like a parts bike to me, so no reason for it to be a Fuji. All the reasons T-mar noted above, plus Belgian rims, Tourney(?) RD, more modern single pivot brakes...

Can you post one drive side pic of the whole bike?

Bikes: 1964 Huffy Sportsman, 1972 Fuji Newest, 1973 Schwinn Super Sport (3), 1982 Trek 412, 1983 Trek 700, 1989 Miyata 1000LT, 1991 Bianchi Boardwalk, plus others

Something looks odd around that drive side dr hanger too. I also am confused by the freewheel with ramped cogs but only a 5 speed.
