I think it's newer than 1976. That 76 on the badge appears to be a reference to when when they made their first cruiser style bicycle. The company is still in business, so why not ask them. https://emorybikes.com/

It really is clean. The seller said they have had it since the 80"s and it never saw sand. The wife never road it because she got something else, and this has just kinda been around and "in the way" Emory's website lists 2 men's bikes for sale currently, both over $1000.00. Really love to know what I have, lol Seems like they've been around for years, though i have never heard of the brand, nor can i find much info
