Columbine lugs

well, with that clue, I have to guess Columbine...

edit: almost forgot this article, which shows a Columbine seat cluster....

Steve in Peoria:

Not sure if this posted because a message regarding URLs popped up.

Columbine lugwork was something that I saw decades ago in a magazine, and could only drool over. Mahalo for sharing and bringing back memories I'd long forgotten. Robert

Nice detail of the wrapover, as seen in the Miki built Sekai 4000 frames as well. I'll post pics of my mystery for the sleuths to solve as soon as I can. Aloha!

That's my mystery bike! The wrap-over seat-stays with the diamond pointed chrome overlay are the same unique features mine has!

Here is a seat lug on a frame I made for myself. I used a seat post binding system similar to how Cinelli stem tightens on a handlebar. Turning a hex bolt on the underside pushes a plate against the seat post to hold it in position. One reason for this was to provide more area for carving. In addition I built it with a triple triangle style (called Hellenic named after the British guy that used it prominently on his frames) so the stays were not covering part of the seat lug.

This isn't a real seat lug even though it looks like one. It is a bilaminate lug made out of 2 pieces of tubing carved and then fillet brazed together. You will notice (barely in the picture) that the exit from the rear brake cable housing comes out the top to the seat stay and not the top tube. I have a brass inner tube running inside the top tube and exiting through the seat stay. That way I don't have to somehow fish the cable though two holes.

When I painted the frame I put some glitter in the final clears for added effect
