Frame ID plz?

Took on an overhaul for my BIL, he works at OHSU and had ridden this up the hill for several years before back problems and surgery. Been laying in the weeds for too long and needs to get going again.

Looking for a frame ID and know I should know but can't remember.

Stamped RDO, claw hanger, way too thick PC so.....

Crappy pics to go with the crappy PC.

lug pattern Agrati "BRIANZA" ART. 000.8030/U

crown and shell not shown

one possibility might be a Torresini produtto

if this is the case serial will be on side of seat tube and commence with a triangular symbol

if a Rizzato product as suggested frame size as measured in inches will likely be marked in two places on underside of shell -

this lug pattern of course available to all and widely employed in Italy for more than three decades...

determination of perpetratore not a determination of marque in this case as Cesare owns about six or eight and has also done contract work

you could make a check for headplate fastener holes but products often employed a transfer

marques include Atala, Atlantica, Corso, Lygie, Maino, Radius, Rizzato & others

May be pulling the fork to service the HS so maybe a clue later, seems to me the most likely would be Atala as we seem to see more of them?

for a Rizzato product of this era serial will be on side of seat tube about four or five cms south of seat lug

first two characters indicate year of manufacture
these are followed by a single letter, most commonly an A

doubt steerer shall carry any marking

---

ex-works machine would have been fitted with a cottered steel chainset
in case it should yet abide somewhere within the confines o' 'vallis its spindle may carry a marking in the centre section of "ATALA 56"
the "56" referring to the distance between the bearing shoulder centres as measured in mm

have no hard information on these but have assumed them to be a product of OMG
from outward clues

the "ATALA" marking does not necessarily mean cycle would have been labelled such

fixed cup and lockring both of the three-dogg pattern

---

the presence of this model of OMG headset on the bicycle rather narrowly brackets the era when combined with the use of the BRIANZA pattern lug set

for an earlier date the headset would have differed and for a later one the lug pattern would have

---

do not know who the importer may have been
one pacific coast agent for Rizzato was the I. Martin Imports Co. of Los Angeles but they were only a stockist for the Atlantica and Lygie marques

if there was a PNW agent at this era do not know the name

---

have no guesses as to how machine may have been labelled ex-works

have good fun with it jimiac!

@juvela

Having the fork out would allow a look for possible HB holes as well.

No original fittings still here whatsoever, complete refitment prior to when it came to my BIL.

After some scrubbing, polish, harsh light and strong readers, S/N appears to be 71A8428
