Happy L Day.....The Velo Swap meet ENCINO.

On a whim I decided to attend the semi-annual swap at the Encino Velodrome. As expected because of the long weekend they were not as many vendors or buyers that were in attendance. In spite of this there some amazing deals there. Unfortunately at the very beginning there was a feeding frenzy when one person showed up with some great bikes/parts at almost giveaway prices AND I didn't get any pictures. Lots of good stuff from others at reasonable prices....I suspect there were some BF members selling.
Anyhow a few pictures for your viewing pleasure:

In my opinion, this swap is better in terms of quality of parts than the one that is held in Whittier.
Best, Ben

To some degree this is true. Both swapmeets have had their dryspells of buyers and sellers. Whittier being each month it'll alternate each month with turnout. Each month is different just depends which one shows up that month.

I haven't been to Encino swap in almost 2 years since there weren't many sellers during that span.

Hope you found something good today Ben

Miguel, You are right about the sellers and frequency being the cause for the difference.....Just out for a look before it got too hot, I thought that I might see you there....Hope you have a great weekend.

The encino swap hasn't come to mind lately and a few seller friends that would normally go haven't asked me if I'm going. I do frequent the whittier swap. Last month it was really good.

I am happy out of town!
would have had a difficult time avoiding the early Shimano freehub parts case especially if it had a decent amount of cogs inside.

I think I can hook you up with the seller, I did not ask for pricing so no idea of the ask....top one, box broken and most parts still there, no idea about the bottom one.

Best, Ben

I could totally see myself moving out of the comfort zone (trash-built Italian road bikes) on that GT, or the blue Gary Fisher.... and seeing the price of that Bianchi, its good that I'm nowhere near the states

About 6 sellers, but a lot of good stuff at very reasonable prices......When I was leaving I heard that the Bianchi went for less...a nearly minty 56 Vitus 979 with Rolf Vectors went for 250! A Rossin 56 frame only and beautiful repaint @250.00...sorry no pics.
NO SOMMECS

Not everything has to be SOMEC but speaking of those, where can I see yours? Does it have an own thread?
