Donnay frame not the internet (and hello)

Hi everyone first post here. I live in Ireland. Some months ago I bought an old carbon frame with alu fork.
I can't post a link to the ad because I'm new, but if you search for "Donnay carbon monocoque frame" you should find it on the Irish adverts website, search for images.
The frame was brought back from Europe in the 1990's by an Irish rider and changed hands a few times.
Over the years the paint jobs got rougher leaving it in the current state of yucky rough blue.
I've established it was a nice shade of metallic purple and I'm going to restore it.

The problem is I have no photo of what it looked like when it was new so I don't know what the decals are supposed to look like. It must be rare because I have scoured the internet for much too long and not found a single photo of it or anything quite like it.

It's like the Merckx Donnay that you can find on this forum see page 6 of the Mrckx bigsource article.

It's more aero. The fork is the same as the one in the Merck Donnay photos except the number is later in the sequence. This suggests some activity at Donny at the same time or post Merckx that was different to the Merckx Donnay. I was of the opinion it pre-dated the Merckx Donnay due to its clunky build but not so.

It's an interesting one and any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.

Is it the one you bought? Or similar?

It appeared 2 years ago in the below thread also curated by the same Merckx expert CyclesMakaron who wrote the thread you are referring to.
Eddy Merckx Carbon 1991 - 2003

Nice looking bike, Merckx or not.. congrats, also whatever you do to it, seeing that you lean towards originality, you can only improve it.

Thanks, that's it.
I just bought the frame and fork and bars.
At this stage it's got 95% paint removed and will go to get minor crack repaired before a respray.

Welcome to C&V

Is there such a thing as a "minor crack" in a monocoque frame? I'm asking in hope of learning.

In this case there is a crack at the top of the seat tube but the seat tube has an aluminium liner which takes most of the loads that might occur. The crack only went about 1cm down then stopped.
The crack is a slight separation of the frame which was made in two halves and bonded.
In this case it is not a major problem but I'll get it fixed.
