Anyone using ceramic paint treatments?

I've never used one, on a car or otherwise, but I wonder if worthwhile on bikes; a bottle that would treat one car should probably treat every bike I own. Anyone doing this? Results? In particular, does it "play nice" with C&V paints and, especially, decals?

I can only say the results are impressive on cars so I too am interested if anyone has any experience on old bikes with gossamer thin decals.

I applied Opti-coat 2.0 ceramic coating to my cars. It last longer than waxes and sealants. But it's not a miracle coating where dirt just falls off or scratches never appear.

It is probably not worth the money for bikes. There's just not enough surface area to make it worth while. It doesn't take that long to apply a sealant or wax to a bike. You can also use the stuff that is applied while the bike is still at wet.

That's probably the key question; otherwise, no risk in simply buying a bottle and trying it.

True, bikes are cheaper than cars so perhaps it is not a cost-effective solution, but as we're kinda attached to these bikes...

^^ I use the spray version of that Hybrid Solutions stuff. It's more like an instant detailer. It works very well. Have not tried it on a bike yet. When my can of Finish Line Teflon Bicycle Detailer is used up I will.

I think that replaced their Gold Class in their product line; I've won some trophies (4 wheel, not 2) with that stuff!

Good info especially on decals, worth looking into. Maybe I'll try in on my wife's bike first.

I have UK Quartz 3.0 on one of my cars, it does what it is supposed to do. I don't see what the advantage would be over good wax on a bicycle.

Looks like the TW Hybrid Ceramic is available as a paste; I am inclined to buy some of that and try it.

I have used some of the spray on variety. It works really well initially, but, it seems to lose its luster quickly.

The ceramics waxes, and even graphene, aren't really any better than the traditional waxes and sealants. On a car in rainy season will last a couple months before the beading effect fades.

A good sealant will last longer than waxes. Waxes offer a better wet look deep gloss. You can apply wax on top of sealants if you want a more glossy look, but not the other way around.

I have tried a bunch. The last two bottles currently in my garage is Meguiar ceramic hybrid and Gyeon Wet Coat. I also have the 2 versions of 303 graphene spray.

The spray on wet car and hose off type doesn't work that well long term. Dry application does last longer. But they last about as long as Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant, but Wolfgang's look glossier.
